This Day In Information: First Computer Search Warrant

Today in 1971, the first warrant to search a computer was issued in San Jose, California. The search ultimately led to a conviction for theft of trade secrets. The most recent widely publicized search warrants involving computers were issued last month as part of the FBI’s investigation into the coordinated cyber attacks against major companies that cut off donations to WikiLeaks.
